By way of introduction, jemmadesigns in all categories prefers to work with our clients to create a seasonal program paid in regular installments.

Plants need specific care with pruning and other activities at appropriate times. Not necessarily at the same time as your other trees, shrubs and plantings. We come to trim and deadhead, or feed etc. when the planting needs it, for best health and display.

In this way our customers can budget more easily so that their properties can look their best at all times and the pocket book will not suffer. All item purchases are billed separately at the price at which they were purchased.

The game for our head gardener is to find the best quality and the least price, wherever it is found, though the farmer’s market in Bloomington is a favourite shopping venue. She supports the Local Grower’s Guild and the Bloomington Farmer's Market whenever possible.

Another key service is the finding of homes for excellent homeless plants, and the transplanting and development of plants with greater root strength than the typical landscape service provides. Healthier, bigger plants sooner, is better!

In gardens as well as in the lawns, the soil conditions and bug and fungus infestations must be controlled. We prefer to work with Mother Nature; naturally if at all possible. Only sometimes the choice is between the plant you like or it’s inevitable death if you don’t ‘medicate‘. But it is your choice.

We will also DESIGN AND MANAGE YOUR WATERING SYSTEMS AND DRAINAGE PATHWAYS. Nature is, for the most part, the stronger system so using her to create what you want is the most sensible way. Pipes tend to create their own drainage problems…
